I’m not sure what the hell has been happening with my phone. Starting last Friday, I received a call from some old lady asking for “Walter”

I told her she had the wrong number, she apologized, and we hung up. About an hour later, she called back, asking for Walter again. I, again, said she had the wrong number and this wasn’t Walter’s phone number. She again apologized and we hung up.

Throughout the rest of the day, I continued to get calls from the old witch, every time she asked if Walter was available and EVERY TIME I told her she had the wrong phone number. On one occasion, before hanging up, she said

“Wait! Is this your number?” and proceeded to read my number, with area code, back to me.

I told her it was- adding that I’m not Walter- and she said she was so sorry, but that information kept giving her my phone number.

That sure didn’t stop her from continuing to call at random intervals for the rest of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday though! She has left several messages on my voicemail saying “If this is Walter’s phone number, please call me back” (by the way, my voicemail message clearly says “Hey it’s John, leave a message”)

How the fuck do I get her to stop!? Additionally, I got a phone call this afternoon from a different number who asked for me. When I confirmed it was me, she congratulated me for having been entered into a Dreams Come True Sweepstakes and promptly hung up on me before I could ask if she was talking about the organization with dying children. I googled around and found it’s a Disney contest. But still, what the fuck? Where are people getting my phone number?
