The best part about this article? The guy was fired for wearing a God button…but in his quotes he says:
“I’ve worn it for well over a year and I support my country and God,” Trevor Keezor said Tuesday. “I was just doing what I think every American should do, just love my country.”
“It feels kind of like a punishment, like I was punished for just loving my country,” Keezer said.
Hey dude: Loving your country and loving God are two different things. Wearing a God button doesn’t show your love of America…it shows your love of God.
Don’t get it twisted.
My frustration with this story is this: Would a story like this have made the news had he been wearing a “I love Satan” button (or something of the like)? Would anyone have been surprised had an employer asked an employee to remove a button that said “Proud Atheist?”
No.
I’m fucking tired of this bullshit mentality that Supporting God/Being Christian = moral/better/patriotic. By all means…believe in God, be Christian - its your right! - but don’t get fucking mad when you’re asked in a public setting NOT to shove it down everyone’s fucking throats. Its our right to not be Christian too, twatwaffles.
